Saint-Petersburg Governor's invitation to the EcoForum-2008

Dear ladies and gentlemen!

The Second Saint-Petersburg International Ecological Forum «Environment and Human Health» will take place in Saint-Petersburg, Russia on July 1-4, 2008.

The First Ecological Forum in the summer 2003, the 300th anniversary of St.-Petersburg, became a significant scientific and public event for participating scientists from Russia and twenty five other countries. The Forum’s Resolution included a wish to conduct it in Saint-Petersburg on regular basis. I am pleased to acknowledge this recognition of St.-Petersburg as the birthplace of modern ecological thought. It was here that V.I. Vernadsky laid the foundations of his theory of biosphere and noosphere.

The scientific program of the EcoForum-2008 reflects new strategies, directions and achievements in sustaining the environment and human health.

Welcome to our wonderful city! I wish all participants of the 2nd Saint-Petersburg International Ecological Forum successful work, health and well-being.

Dear colleagues!

On behalf of the Organizing Committee we invite you to participate in The Second Saint-Petersburg International Ecological Forum “Environment and Human Health” to be held on July1-4th 2008 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

Leading specialists in the areas of clinical ecology, toxicology, toxicogenomics, radioecology, biological safety, and terrestrial and extraterrestrial ecological physiology will take part in the EcoForum-2008. Plenary lectures will be delivered by the scientists from many countries: Russia, EC, the Baltics, USA, Far and Middle East, and others. The main purpose of the EcoForum-2008 is to have a scientific discussion of environment factors: radiological, chemical, biological, and climatic-natural and their effects on human health. Under the auspices of the Forum, joint Plenary Sessions and independent Congresses will be held on each of the delineated risk factors. Poster sessions, round-table discussions, an exhibition of the laboratory equipment, medical technology, and pharmaceuticals are all a part of the EcoForum-2008 program.

We sincerely hope that the humanistic spirit and high scientific level of the EcoForum-2008, the incomparable sights of our city, and, last but not least, our warm hospitality will all add up to an exceptionally productive and pleasant time you will spend in Saint-Petersburg, one of the great scientific and cultural centers of the World.
